9 years baby

Today Coby & I celebrate our 9th wedding anniversary ... through the years Coby has put up with me nagging, not cooking, driving poorly, wearing clothes he thinks are ugly, complaining about my hair, taking care of my sick body {since he is rarely sick} & being my biggest cheerleader!  Loved you from day 1!!!

I am the one who is always dreaming of the next trip to take even when you

travel all the time for work.

Do we stay or do we go?

The day Coby came home from work in Idaho {day before Thanksgiving} he was told that we need to move up there ASAP.  We have just been sick about it ... of course we knew it was coming but it is hard to swallow.  We love where we are in our life ... our house, neighborhood, my job, working from home & many more things.  Moving makes things different but it may be better long term for us {it also may be bad long term we just don't know}.  

This morning Coby & I made this list for pro's & con's on staying & moving.  It helped a little but we still are unsure.  We are going to put our house up for sale & see what happens.  I hate big decisions.

Utah IS beautiful!

I took some crappy photos while we were flying to some jobs around Utah today, but I am still posting them. I realized how beautiful Utah is more than ever ... so diverse & so different than so many places on earth. We got to fly over Zion National Park, Kolob, Bryce Canyon, Moab & up north & every area looked different from the last.

Coby babysat all day (with the exception of our helper who came for 2 hours) & even put Lucy to bed. Coby got to see today why I always miss out on breakfast, lunch & dinner ... too busy trying to take care of Lucy & work! He did great & only had Lucy pee on him twice! Seriously Coby?! If you let a baby hang out naked sooner or later it will pee on you.

My boss who flew us was in charge of making desserts at LAC at 6:30 tonight at his house & we got home at 6:00. Even with the stress of a long day & having a bunch of girls in their home Jen & Chris were perfect hosts, it was a fun night.

While Coby is in Europe I ask him to eat things on my behalf. The last trip he did just that.

1. French dog (see photo & how he is mocking me because I crave them).


2. Expensive desserts


3. Indian food (only because we love it & there isn't a place to eat in St. George).

First class husband

After years of overseas traveling Coby finally made it to FIRST CLASS!

He is now a "gold" member & will be a "platinum" member in October ... which is the highest. I am so happy for him ... he totally deserves to be flying first class! He was in Europe last week for 5 days & was upgraded to 1st class by Delta. He leaves for 2 weeks again (then he is done for the year) next week & will be sleeping in style the entire way.

2 of our favorite things ...

Coby has a convention {he will have some of his European people there so he is going to take care of them} in San Diego this October & invited me to tag along. Then we figured we might as well make a trip of it ... so we invited Coby's little sister Jacee & younger brother Tanner {who gets home from his 2 year LDS mission Today} to go & the 3 of us will play while Coby works. We will head to Sea World, the beach, maybe the zoo & then Disneyland after the convention with Coby.


We will stay 1 night {$414 a night ... I am too dang cheap to stay any longer} at the Grand Californian Hotel in Disneyland which we are totally excited for. Lucy can fuss & sleep in peace in the hotel room if needed since it is so close.



OK the best part of this trip ... it will be Halloween Time at Disneyland ... Disneyland & Halloween ... our 2 favorite things combined!

I really need to get working on a Halloween costume!

Coby's new toy

This is what Coby has been playing with the last 2 days. He is going to show me all the new tricks he has learned when he gets home Friday.

note: this is the first time he has something cooler than myself ... most of the time I am the coolest ... way {that was for Ray & Brittany}.

French fries

Coby is on a new kick of making homemade french fries ... well our version at least. He strapped Lucy in his harness {I can't use this one because it KILLS my back} & made some tasty fries last night.

• Bake/microwave whole potatoes until soft
• Cut into small wedges
• Liberally coat in olive oil on cookie sheet
• Salt & pepper

Broil on high in oven for 5-10 minutes then flip & broil for another 5-10 minutes. Of course you can't have french fries without some homemade fry sauce {ketchup & miracle whip mixed together}.

Today

Coby got home after being away for almost 2 weeks in Idaho for work {his new commute}. While he was away I posted this photo of Lucy on her bebe blog & he freaked out & called me after he saw it. He was worried he had been away so long that he had missed her standing up. Little did he know I was holding her hand.

She can't even sit up alone yet ... no worries Coby.

Peter the Great's Summer Palace

Coby's trip to Europe was full of new places to see. Of course his time is limited for sightseeing since he travels for work, but he & his boss made time to see a few important places in Russia. Since the sun doesn't set until around 3:00 am they went on a midnight tour after work! They were beat the next day.

These shots are from Peter The Greats Palace - Coby said the grounds alone took all their time so they didn't even make it inside. The fountains are all fueled by gravity & flow down to the Baltic Sea {photo of the 3 guys is at the bottom of the backyard in front of the sea}. Coby did great with photos this trip, although judging by the Michael Jackson pose I think he wishes I wouldn't send the camera with him. I especially was impressed with the first photo ... Coby getting artistic & I love it.

Coby is home

Coby made it home without loosing any luggage! He is 5 out of 7 for loosing it! They put a first class tag on his checked bag & I think that made it get through so easy - we are keeping it on! So this is when he got to see Lucy ... sadly he leaves Monday morning for the week to do his new commute to Idaho Falls by plane. Argg

Today I am very thankful for skype & webcams. Coby & I can talk for free while he is in Europe plus we get to see eachother. He loves to see Lucy & she just stares at the webcam so it looks like she is looking right at him ... cute.

Miss you

Coby is off to Europe for 2 weeks ... we will miss him!

Happy B-day Coby

31 today & Lucy & I dropped him off at the airport @ 5:30 am for a short trip to Idaho for work. I love this man of mine!

Cursed drapes ...

So I am so over the entire baby drape issue ~ I have to be after what happened last night! I got frustrated after receiving the wrong drape & went on another search locally for totally new drapes. I got some brown ones & I really don't like them, but Coby does so I can be happy with that. The major reason they needs to stay ... the stupid drape issue just cost us a ton of $$$$ at the hospital!

I asked Coby to reach the drapery rod for me since I didn't want to stand on a bar stool & fall. Coby didn't want to either, so he decided to JUMP to get it after standing on the windowsill for some leverage. Not a good idea. He got the rod & fell back on his left foot {high upper ankle sprain} & then caught himself with his right arm & broke his elbow! So he is in a brace for 4 weeks & looks like weirdo walking because he can't use crutches because of the broken elbow ... so sad.

So those dang drapes are going on eBay today! Curse you stupid Pottery Barn drapes {found out Coby didn't even like them anyway}!

Coby is a blogger

A year after his last post Coby decided he would start it up again. I am so happy to have him home again & even though neither of us slept much last night, we maybe got 4 hours {Coby from jet lag & me from being 8 months pregnant} we still seem to make it. Coby is super sweet & thoughtful ... he loves consumer reports which I could care less about ... so watch out for his posts on that! Otherwise it looks like he will be journaling his trips, which I am excited about. His blog is probably geared towards me mostly, but if you want to check it out you can.

Rarely can I get Coby to take photos with him actually in them ~ so this time he did it. Funny thing is he looks like a statue in all of them, still cute though. It was cold, can you tell?

He is very good with people, so no matter what we do we have fun. He is good about riding his bike to work or running on his own … I stopped & he just kept going.

13. Who mows the lawn? He does, except when he is really busy, then I do it. It is a process though, edge … trim … mow.
14. Who cooks dinner? Mostly Coby … he loves to & he is good at it.

17. Who kissed who first? He tried & I declined because I was scared. A month or so later I kissed him.

More lost luggage

Coby just arrived in Finland & sent me a text letting me know that the airline lost his luggage.

I had hoped 2008 would bring Coby better luck with his luggage, but guess not. He even flew through the airport (Minneapolis) that the CFO of Skywest recommended he use to not get your luggage lost.

Coby is getting ready for another trip to Europe {for his job as a European Sales Manager} today & leaves Tuesday morning. I have only asked him twice when he is going to pack his bag ... he reminds me that not everyone is like me & plans ahead. He will pack late tonight I am sure & I will try hide my stress. I will miss him but I am excited for him to go to 2 new countries ... Russia & Ukraine.
